The Pyrenean Mastiff is a majestic and ancient livestock guardian breed originating from the Pyrenees mountains of Spain. These dogs have a thick double coat that requires regular grooming to prevent matting and tangles. Pyrenean Mastiffs are large and powerful dogs, with males typically standing between 30 to 32 inches (76 to 81 centimeters) tall at the shoulder and weighing between 160 to 230 pounds (73 to 104 kilograms). Females are slightly smaller, usually ranging from 28 to 30 inches (71 to 76 centimeters) tall and weighing between 120 to 170 pounds (54 to 77 kilograms).
