The Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen (GBGV) is a charming and energetic breed known for its distinctive appearance and excellent hunting abilities. Roughly translated, Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen means “Large, low, shaggy dog of the Vendéen”. These medium-sized dogs were initially bred as multipurpose working and hunting dogs, specializing in hunting large game.
